BUR (Back-Up Retention) magazine catch for AR15 variants
This is the latest version of the BUR AR15 as of 2023.
The BUR AR15 enables your firearm to retain unseated mags. If you fail to seat the magazine on the first try simply tap and rack to get back into the fight. No fumbling for a new mag or grabbing the debris-compromised mag off the floor.
No special tools required, installation is simple.
This mag catch allows an unseated mag to be intentionally pulled out of the magwell while performing a *pull-test. (see definition below)
Maximum load rating will vary due to the wide range of manufacturing tolerances and fitments between mags, mag-wells, mag catch spring rates, etc..

Note: The primary retention feature has no published load rating limit and can handle any magazine or drum on the market.
Minimum load rating on the back-up retention feature is at least 30 round mags.
Minimum load rating on the primary retention feature is the same as mil-standard.
*A pull-test is a mag insertion method where you check to see if the mag is seated by pulling on it. If the mag comes out, it was not fully seated. If the mag does not come out, it is fully seated and engaged with the magazine locking feature fully.
